Screenings Offered:

Pre-employment Screening

Through CandidateCare, pre-employment drug tests are automatically ordered. The candidate immediately receives the authorization form and instructions to complete the drug test. Avesta clients who utilize drug screening through CandidateCare are able to achieve up to 95% compliance rate.

Employment Screening

Avesta can grant access to authorized administrators to order electronic drug tests for post-incident, return-to-duty, or random testing.

Types of Tests:

  • Urine Drug Testing – All urine drug tests include TESTSURE, which confirms the validity of the specimen, and GCMS confirmation on non-negative test results. Options include:
    • DOT 5 Panel
    • Non-DOT (DOT Look-a-Like) 5 Panel
    • Non-DOT 9 Panel with extended Opiates
  • Oral Alcohol Swab – An easy-to-use self-collection method that tests only for alcohol, most commonly used for post-incident, reasonable suspicion, or random sampling. All results are instant and positive results should be confirmed by a breath alcohol test within two hours.

Collection Sites

Our drug screening network covers over 8,000 collection facilities nationwide. The authorization form provided by Avesta works at any collection site, which can be selected by the administrator or the prospective/current employee. The vast majority of collection sites do not require an appointment and accept walk-ins.

Medical Review Officer

Avesta offers the option to have all drug test results verified by a Medical Review Officer (MRO) or only the non-negative results reviewed by a MRO. The Medical Review Officer evaluates medical explanations for drug test results.

Turnaround Times

Avesta’s clients may determine the amount of time given to the prospective or current employee to submit the drug test before the drug test expires. Once the drug test has been submitted, the average turnaround time for reporting negative urine drug screen results, when no additional testing is required, is less than 24 hours. Positive tests will  take approximately 48-72 hours to resolve.
