Is your company looking to implement pre-employment, random,
return-to-duty, or post-accident drug screening?
Avesta is ready to help!
Avesta is pleased to announce that drug screening is being added to list of offered services. Avesta understands the risk for companies attempting to maintain compliance with drug screening procedures; for example, upholding an accurate chain of custody trail and using a valid Medical Review Officer. Choosing to utilize Avesta’s drug screening services will eliminate the stress of any potential drug screening pitfall.
Avesta is offering both DOT-regulated and non-DOT-regulated drug screening. Currently our urine drug tests are either a 5-panel or 9-panel urine drug test. The 5-panel urine drug screen tests for amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, opiates, and PCP. The 9-panel urine drug screen tests for the 5-panel drugs plus barbiturates, benzodiazepines, methadone, and propoxyphene.
The turn-around time for reporting negative urine drug screen results, when no additional testing is required, is less than 24 hours. This measurement includes the time from when the specimen is first received in the laboratory until the result is released by the certifying scientist and is available for reporting. Specimens requiring additional testing using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) are generally released within an additional 24-48 hours from the time of receipt. Positive results that are released to a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO) require an additional 24-72 hours. This allows the MRO ample time to contact the employee to discuss the result and make a final determination.
With a network of over 8,000 collection facilities nationwide, Avesta makes it easier for your candidates to submit a drug test wherever they are located. All locations participate in electronic chain of custody forms – increasing communication throughout the entire drug screening process. For pre-employment drug screening, Avesta will modify your application process in CandidateCare to automate the drug screening process. Once a candidate has read and signed the Background Screening Disclosure and Authorization form, the drug screening will initiate a ticket for the candidate to report to an approved collection facility within your company’s designated time (e.g. 72 hours). For all other drug screening reasons, Avesta will modify your AssociateCare account to allow drug screening initiation with just a click of a button!
